Malankara Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church (Jacobite Syrian Christian Church) is a member of the Association and Council of Christian Medical College Vellore. Hence our church is one among the sixty-plus sponsoring bodies to CMC Vellore. Thus we have the benefit of sponsoring Jacobite candidates for admission to various courses conducted by CMC Vellore. The very purpose of sponsoring candidates for admission in CMC Vellore is to get medical and paramedical personnel trained in the true Christian spirit for the medical mission work through church hospitals. So the criteria for admission are according to the need of the sponsoring body for mission and medical work. It is always misunderstood as a right, but it is not. Candidates selected through sponsorship for admission in CMC Vellore will have to serve in the church mission hospitals for two years (UG) and three years (PG). Our mission hospitals are Mar-Baselios Medical Mission Hospital. Kothamangalam, St.Mary’s Hospital Manarcadu, Mandiram Hospital Manganam, Kottayam, Knanaya Medical Mission Menathottam Hospital, Ranni, and Iasis Hospital Vasai, Mumbai.
